Yasim 'helped' the Harkonnen in the elevator. The door closed there for a moment.

The others continued their own pursuits. One kept climbing in the lift shaft, the others ran up the stairs to the fateful 4th floor. "Are you there captain?" They called and received an affirmative. "Search that floor!"

'Innocent' move sent the elevator down. There was thud at the bottom, not even a scream, the guy beneath didn't even know what got him and probably got mangled on impact.

Harkonnen were having enough of this cat-and-mouse play. One aimed his lasgun at Dorian's head. "You think it's fun, eh? You go first."

Under the threat, he pushed him into the dark room, now smelling of gore...

Meanwhile, the fugitive used the providence of the elevator rushing down to slip back into the shaft and climb up very quickly!

Another Harkonnen 'encouraged' Dorian to proceed by keeping him at a gunpoint. There was no way for Gene to discretely warn her man in the shadows that Dorian was not a target...

Dorian proclaimed very loudly, making a scene in an obviously offended manner, you might even expect him to call for their manager at any moment, "You dare to threaten a CHOAM delegate?! I have been nothing but cooperative in helping you track down your fugitive and now you hold me at gunpoint and try to force me to go in and apprehend her for you? I believe our Sardaukar escort would have some thoughts about this treatment!"

Everything was seeming falling into place, whether thru her actions or others. It was nice dealing with people who knew what they were doing. All she did now was sit back on the 4th floor and kept her head down and let the other pieces fall where they lay.

Reyyan heard Dorian's voice and arched an eyebrow under her helmet. Not trusting the Harkonnen here by themselves, she turned off her helmet's speaker and turned on her squad mic. She spoke softly into it, "Squad two, there's an incident on floor four I need you to intervene in ASAP. Currently with a Harkonnen Caid, so I need one of you to handle it."

Harkonnen were talking between themselves too. The one in the elevator had enough of the nonsense and tried to subdue Yasim.

A third one on the stairs joined the ranks of those aiming at Dorian. "Get in!"

The captain turned to Reyyan accusatorily. "You're helping her!"

Right after, the dark-clad masked figure sprang out of the emergency vent; she counted on reaching her target before he'd react, but he turned around at the very last moment!

Reyyan attempted to grab the woman rather than draw her blade; She was taller and likely stronger, so if she could get the person into a subdual hold, maybe death could be averted before the situation got out of hand.

Seeing the third Harkonnen pull a lasgun out and none of them advancing into the room, Dorian addresses them, "The breadth of Harkonnen cowardice and incompetence continues to surprise me. I will have you know that the services of a Swordmaster of Ginaz do not come cheap... I'm not sure if you or your masters are ready to pay that price." As he finishes, Dorian slowly draws his kindjals and cautiously enters the room.

Whether in result of Dorian's speech or because of the call from above, only one Harkonnen remained at the door, the other two rushed upstairs after Dorian had gone inside. This is what Gene could see from her hiding place.

Inside, no-one attacked him. It was silent in there. But the darkness of the room was thick with the smell of blood.

Yasim set the elevator to go all the way back up, squeezed between the Emperor's troops.

Wanna Marcus barked just three words at Reyyan "Let me pass!" but there was such a power within them that the Levenbrech found it hard to do otherwise with sufficient speed. The Bene Gesserit side-stepped her and darted up, slamming the door to the roof behind her.

And that was it. Whatever the next step of her escape in a thopter, it was now between her and her Harkonnen pursuers. But in the night, she certainly stood a chance. The Broken Land was near enough.

Reyyan stood up and shook the cobwebs out of her head as she heard the thopter taking off above. Maybe she needed more hand-to-hand training for such cases in the future... she was so used to people being opponents to kill, not people to interrogate. Or maybe she could get one of those shock batons...

The Harkonnen caid was on the comms, reporting the situation in a shaken voice. Two of his men joining him provided little reassurance. They dared not challenge Reyyan.

The one who'd been threatening Dorian dropped his lasgun just as he saw the Sardaukar pour out of elevator, Yasim in tow.

Gene's 'friends' were nowhere to be seen. For all purposes, it would look like the bodies in the dark room were Dorian's work.
