[Day 4 - LE] Supply & Demand

[Bomilcar Thorvald]

"Maybe," he says with a hoarse chuckle. "Sorry."

He calls Edwell forward a bit. "CHOAM better half. Edwell Santini." Then introduced his old friend "Enur of the Rig."

[Kannon]

"Haven't met, but glad to do so." Enur extended his hand in the general direction, apparently versed in the half-handshake of the Imperium. "Bom's friends are my friends."

[Dorian Drake]

Returning the handshake, Edwell says, "I am honored to accompany Mr. Bomilcar in our endeavors. If I may interject with a question, have you found your recent deliveries here to Arrakis to be consistent with past demand, or has it increased or decreased?"

[Kannon]

"I think they buy more or less the same, maybe even a bit more. But don't take my word for it, I am not a books person. Just an impression." Enur said with all his careless honesty.

[Bomilcar Thorvald]

"How about Harkonnen ships? Any rumors?" he asks, wondering if there was anything going on with the shipping like there had been with the mining according to Manx.

[Kannon]

"They're making buddies with the new CHOAM gang, you know, Uchan, Tull. They tell me a lot of those have passed through this port over the past week. It's weird in a way, to intensify trade with the Harks and then send your mission to investigate them. Or is it the other way around, bend them to bring them to the table?" He shrugged. "But also it isn't. Uchani sell lasguns, Tull sell thopters. Harks need a lot of those here."

[Bomilcar Thorvald]

"CHOAM's big. Right hand, left hand," he replies. "Thanks. Got a private request." He says not wanting to talk in public about it, but now that he's got Enur here he has someone he can trust to help set the smuggling plan with the water sellers into motion.

[Kannon]

"We'd have to handle it now, Bom. We're leaving tonight."

[Bomilcar Thorvald]

He sighs and leans in and clears his throat. Whispering helped a bit. "Dilute liquid fuel for Water sellers. With water. Get separation equipment for ocean spill cleanup. Zenzi Bewt is contact."

[Kannon]

Enur nodded, getting what Bom was getting at. "I can do that, technically. What about the delivery part? Hard to do so under Harkonnen noses without them noticing."

[Bomilcar Thorvald]

"Equipment is only difficulty. Mislabel fuel pump spare parts, let them assemble. Let them move fuel after delivery. Have them hire a rig engineer in desk job."

[Kannon]

"Who's paying for it? The resource, the Guild rates, and all."

[Bomilcar Thorvald]

"Thorvald fronts it. Water sellers pay full for fuel, we profit on diluted product. Water costs us nothing."

[Kannon]

"I can improvise a transport or two if I know where to land on this hellhole, but in the end you'll need to run it by the Jarl, you know that, Bom? CHOAM rules and all." Enur said. "And I doubt the Harkonnen will do nothing about it if you drop it around here or in Arrakeen. You need a better place to land. Something remote, or even off the charts."

[Bomilcar Thorvald]

He felt he was not communicating the intent well.
There should be no need for hidden meetings.

He shakes his head. "Hide in normal shipment. Diluted fuel still fuel. Will talk to Memnon."

[Kannon]

"As you wish, Bom. But the weights won't add up for fuel on delivery. The Harks have a CHOAM mandate, the Houses Minor can't trade for themselves, without this going through Harks. If someone snitches and we're caught by CHOAM, there are going to be punitive tariffs. Especially now, with all the surtax craze, the Emperor dislikes anything that looks like a bribe to the Harks. And the Guild always takes the weight of cargo precisely to calculate the fare. It can be done, but some bad luck and suddenly Thorvald operations may get a general hit."

He sighed. "Once we had the Londines to do the dirty work."

[Bomilcar Thorvald]

"Working on it. Let home know," he says.

[Kannon]

"I will, Bom. Don't get killed around here, eh?"

[Bomilcar Thorvald]

He nods at that. "Take care Enur."

[Kannon]

[Is it scene or Bom and Edwell want to check something else here?}

[feel like it kind of lost a bit of original steam, but if edwell wants to talk to choam ships Bom will follow]

[Do we have time to go harass... I mean investigate the spice hauler?]

[I think it's soft investigating at this point.]
