Day 3 [28.08-31.08]

"Peace demands solutions, but we never reach living solutions; we only work toward them. A fixed solution is, by definition, a dead solution. The trouble with peace is that it tends to punish mistakes instead of rewarding brilliance."
The CHOAM frigate left Arrakeen eastward, toward the centre of spice mining operations at the Splintered Rock. The clearance for this was reluctantly given by the Harkonnen on the condition that it shall last no longer than one day - the frigate takes too much of the landing field meant for spice operations.
They leave a very disquieted Arrakeen. After the explosion, the pogrom, and now the imminent water shortage due to many water farms being overrun by sand vermin, the pyons are restive. The Harkonnen don't dismiss the rumours that the CHOAM delegation is responsible for the calamity, perhaps even cynically fuel related xenophobia and superstition in the Graben and Pan.
While insulated from the pyons, Dune Men may conclude that the CHOAM audit is deliberately subversive. [Every dealing with them has Suspicion trait.]

Ideas for activities:
- Going on a spice mining operation into the desert with the Dune Men
- Investigating the books
- Seeking data and rumours in conversations with miners' leadership or rank-and-file
- Demanding a tour of the refinery at Mt. Dmitri
- Going on an independent patrol into wilderness of the outer Shield Wall

Private message from Count Hasimir Fenring to the representatives of House Wallach and House Mutelli [Received LA3]
It is with regret that I inform you that you as representatives of your Houses have been named by House Harkonnen as violators of the terms of CHOAM audit in a complaint to be submitted before the Landsraad during the next extraordinary session. The charges raised include inciting and perpetrating violence against Harkonnen law enforcement performing their legitimate duty and public obligation in the name of the Padishah Emperor, thereby precipitating a humanitarian crisis of calamitous proportions. The censure postulated is exclusion of House Wallach and House Mutelli from any direct access to the planet Arrakis until the election of the next CHOAM Board of Directors as well as indemnifying House Harkonnen with the sum of 10 million solaris each for the losses incurred. A concurrent motion will be submitted by House Harkonnen to the CHOAM Board with the aim to provide advisory expertise to the Landsraad on the economic merit of those charges and to formulate further economic sanctions in case of non-compliance. You receive this message as my courtesy as none of these developments are likely to become public until after your audit has been completed, and are likely to be timed with the water shortage crisis for added outrage, so that you are mindful of new ramifications for you and your sponsors and can prepare for them. I need not remind you that presenting Sardaukar force in any disadvantageous light in those events shall not meet the Emperor's approval. House Harkonnen has prudently avoided such course of action in their planned motion.
